Type of Attack | How it’s done? | How to defend against it |
---|---|---|
Man In The Middle Attack | You connect tp any free WiFi point you find in a public place. So, someone creates a fake access point that steals your information when you connect and use the Internet. | Only connect to know or trusted public WiFi. |
Spoofing | We tend to not think twice before entering our credentials into a portal. This is exploited by attackers by making fake websites that look like Google, Facebook or Twitter log in. | One should always check the URL before using a website. |
Social Engineering | This is probably the easiest way to get your account hacked. It works by convincing you to share your credentials by means of talking to you. It can be a friend who always asks you about your password. | Simple, don’t give anyone your password. |
Sniffing | People can scan and see what you send over WiFi. | Use HTTPS instead of HTTP. |
